Guide

What FPL Manager Copilot does, and how to get the most out of it each gameweek.

Getting started

Enter your public FPL team ID on the start page. You'll find it in the address of your Points page on the FPL website, for example /entry/1234567/event/7. There is no sign-up, and we never ask for your FPL email or password.

Once your team is open, the menu (at the bottom on a phone, on the left on a computer) takes you to the five pages described below.

Your weekly routine

  1. Check your squad is rightIf you've made transfers since the last deadline, enter them in Settings. Plans are only as good as the squad they start from.
  2. Read TodayWork through the priority actions, set your captain and see whether a chip is worth playing.
  3. Plan in the PlannerCompare the plan with Hold and the alternatives. Lock the players you want to keep and ban the ones you won't buy, then look again.
  4. Look at your leagueSee what the managers around you own and which chips they have left, and go head-to-head with the one you're chasing.
  5. Make your moves in FPLThe app never changes your team. Make the transfers, captain and chip in the official FPL app before the deadline.

What each page does

Today

Your briefing for the next deadline: what to do this week, most important first.

  • Priority actions: each says what to do and why, with the evidence behind it. Dismiss the ones you've handled.
  • Captaincy: the captain and vice with the best expected points, and how close the alternatives are.
  • Chips: whether to play one this week or save it.
  • Your plan: the best transfers over the next few gameweeks, or Hold when no transfer is worth it.

Squad

Your starting XI and bench for the next deadline.

  • Each player shows the fixture, expected points (xP) and the chance of starting. Tap a player for the details.
  • Switch between Current and Proposed to see your team after the recommended transfers.

Planner

Transfers, chips and expected points over the next few gameweeks.

  • Your plan against Hold: how many points the plan gains over making no transfers, and whether a hit pays for itself.
  • Alternatives: other good plans, so you can pick one that suits you.
  • Budget and transfers: your bank and free transfers week by week.
  • Locks and bans: keep a player in every plan, or never buy one.

League

Your classic leagues, and how you compare with the managers you're chasing.

  • Standings with the gap to the manager above you and to the leader.
  • What the top 20 own: each of your players is marked Template (many rivals have him) or Differential (few do).
  • Chips left and After chips: which chips each manager still has, and their lead once those are counted.
  • Click any team to go head-to-head: your players against theirs, who is favoured over the next gameweeks, and both seasons side by side.

Settings

Your planning preferences and corrections to your squad, saved in this browser.

  • Strategy: how many gameweeks to plan for, how many hits to allow and the gain a hit must bring.
  • Chip rules: make plans play a chip in a gameweek, or keep it out of one.
  • Squad corrections: enter transfers made since the last deadline, your bank, free transfers and selling prices, so your squad matches FPL.

Winning your mini-league

Your rank in your league depends on the points you score that your rivals don't. A few ways to use the League page for that:

  • Leading? Cover the template. Owning the players your rivals own means their good weeks are your good weeks too, so your lead is hard to cut.
  • Chasing? Back differentials. Points from players your rivals don't own are the only points that close a gap. Go head-to-head to see which of yours they don't have.
  • Count the chips, not just the points. A rival 20 points ahead with every chip used may be easier to catch than one 10 ahead with a Bench Boost and Triple Captain still to play. After chips shows this.
  • Watch their captain. When you share a captain, it cancels out; when you don't, it is often the biggest swing of the week.

FPL keeps every manager's picks private until the deadline passes, so rivals' teams are always the ones they had at the last deadline. Moves they make this week only show up after the next one.

Reading the numbers

xP (expected points)
The points a player is expected to score, from his chance of playing, his fixtures and his underlying stats. An average, not a promise.
Hold
Making no transfers. Every plan is measured against it, so a transfer has to earn its place.
Hit
An extra transfer beyond your free ones, which costs 4 points. Worth it only when it gains more than that.
Squad state
How sure we are of your squad: Public (from FPL's last published picks), Reconstructed (with our estimates of prices and bank) or Confirmed (with your corrections).
Template and differential
A template player is owned by many of the top 20 in your league; a differential by few of them. Hover over the flag to see the thresholds.
